Calef Brown designed and illustrated the logo for We Art Boston, which is a fundraiser that was conceived in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing to raise money for the Boston Children’s Hospital Trauma and Emergency Fund.  Calef designed the logo with multiple heart icons to give it variety for different uses.

Great art and design for an even greater cause…

Livia Cives created these lively illustrations for Kit Magazine.  The article is titled Caregiving 101, and Livia’s loose style brings a bit of levity to a serious topic.  Livia will be contributing illustrations to this ongoing series for the next few issues of the magazine, so we’ll be sharing more of them soon…

Dave Stevenson was commissioned by The Village Voice to create the artwork for their 3rd annual Brooklyn Pour.  This is a curated craft beer tasting event that takes place in October, and features “100+ craft brews from New York and beyond”.

Dave did the illustration and hand lettering, and I love the use of his work on the woodsy background of the website – very cool!

Tom Jester  illustrated “Amoolia” for this year’s AeroShell AirVenture poster.  The event takes place every year in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, and Amoolia has become a mascot of sorts for the event.  This year they decided to go with a more realistic illustration than in years past, and Tom’s style really brings Amoolia to life!

London based illustrator, Simeon Elson, was commissioned to create this illustration for the UK publication Mortgage Strategy.  Here is a bit about the project in Sim’s own words:

I completed this cool cover illustration for Mortgage Strategy.  My brief was to illustrate George Osborne with a silhouette of Margret Thatcher as his shadow. This illustration was the cover image and also used to accompany a double page spread entitled ‘Chasing Shadows’, which delves into the constant comparisons being made between George Osborne’s and the late Margaret Thatcher’s housing marketing strategies.”

Mariya Paskovsky has been working on new collections for her illustration portfolio, and here is a sneak peek of just some of what she’s been up to.  She created this series by hand with pen and ink and added the color digitally.  Here’s a bit about Mariya’s inspiration for these gorgeous illustrations, in her own words:

“The girls with flowers are the result of beautiful Victorian 19th century flower illustrations that I am collecting. I wanted to created something vintage or “chic and antique” looking inspired by tea cups, dentelle (lace), and English roses.”
